English Test (B1) is aligned as per Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) and conducted in the UKVI approved Examination Centres only. It is a SELT (Secure English Language Test) Test which is required by the applicants applying for the following visa category:

• Indefinitely Leave to Remain (Settlement Visa / Permanent Residency) 

• Naturalisation (British Citizenship)

 

 About the Exam:

• Speaking and Listening Exam only. 

• Exam Duration: 11-12 Minutes

• Four Short conversation with examiner (Online)

• Individual Assessment (like an interview)

• Simple and Practical topics-based questions 

 

After the Exam:

After completing the exam, the examiner will provide “Provisional Results” within 15 mins. You will receive Test Report with the provisional score and your Unique Reference Number (URN). This URN is required by the UKVI and you must include this in your application. 

 

Exam Preparation Material:

It is recommended to go through the preparation material for better performance and success. It is advisable and always good to prepare for the test.

The exam material covers the marking criteria, sample questions, topics and sample interview (audio).

 

B1 Test Format

Part 1 Personal information: 

Respond to questions on familiar matters

 

Part 2 Situational role play:

 Initiate and respond appropriately to social situations

 

Part 3 Exchanging information:

 Exchange information on a given image/set of images

 

Part 4a Listen and respond:

 Answer questions on a short monologue delivered by the interlocutor

 

Part 4b Long turn:

 Deliver a short, uninterrupted talk on a relevant topic provided by the interlocutor
